St. Francis Home for Disabled Children

Society's Hidden Children

St. Francis is a unique facility in Zimbabwe that cares for the unwanted, hidden children in society - those with physical and mental challenges, who are often neglected by their families through financial constraints, or shame. They currently have 59 patients ranging from the very small to teenagers. There is an annex where non-violent children over the age of sixteen, who have nobody to care for them at home, are transferred. The violent children are sent to an adult institution for further care and rehabilitation.

As a Government-run institution they suffer chronic funding shortages and rely heavily on the goodwill of the public - You and Me.
They are in urgent need of Pampers as they are currently using large napkins as diapers. They also need warm clothing for winter.
